Well hello there Luxembourg

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

We arrived in Luxembourg late Thursday night to my sweet husband and the most beautiful roses I've seen. Mind you they are still beautifully bloomin'.We live in a quaint little village called Ernzen and our house is back in the woods. Chickens and all, I adore it. The weather has been really nice. Cool, but such a refreshing change from the heat in Texas. My dad is here with us and so we are trying to do a little bit of sight seeing before he leaves on Nov. 3rd.

Yesterday we decided to park and walk around the centre of Luxembourg City and take the elevator down to The Grund(lower city). The centre has tons of shops, restaurants, and bakery's. Deep inside the Centre you can't drive so the brick streets are crowded with walking people. My favorite! I love the mix of old and new buildings they have. We are definitely in Europe y'all. Let me just go ahead and photo dump…..

Stay tuned for my next travel post about Trier, Germany!

Brynn's [THREE] Month Update

Saturday, October 25, 2014

My sweet sweet babe, how in the world are you 3 months old?! Your turning into your own little person and I grow deeper in love every second!

Weight: 13 pounds 5 ounces

Height(decided she is getting way too tall to call it length lol): 25.5 inches!

Sleep: Sleep has pretty much been the same with 5-6 hours and the occasion wanting to eat every 2-3 hours through the night. Thursday night was our first night in Luxembourg and of course a 7 hour time change. So, it was interesting to say the least. I am sure it'll take some time to get her and I back on track. Although she has been a great napping partner and we have some fun smiles through the night. She has her own crib here in Lux and she is no longer inside our room with us. Our video monitor hasn't gotten here yet either so talk about restless momma.

Eating: I pretty much just feed on demand here lately. I have noticed she lasts about 3 in a half to 4 hours during the day if there is things going on or she takes her long nap. Still taking 4 1/2 to 5 ounces when I pump and give her a bottle.

Diapers: Finishing up what size 1 diapers we have and moving onto 2! My baby is growing way too quick.

Clothing: A few 3 months and the rest 3-6 are pretty solid. They are a little big in the body but perfect in length. Size 2 or 4" in moccs(I'm obsessed btw) for shoes.

Mood: Happy go lucky like always. She has been noticing that when she cries I pick her up so trying to put her down more often and let her fuss a few minutes. I will never let her scream though it just breaks my heart. Now, her carseat is no longer her lover. She used to fall asleep instantly when we would get in the car and yeah now every once in awhile she decides she hates it and screams bloody murder until we get her out. It was a long 45 minute drive from Eden.

Loves:

-Having her hands in her mouth and starring at them. She always holds them as if she is praying!
-Talking up a storm
-Trying to sit up, this girl is strong y'all!
-Being put in her bouncy seat or saucer
- SLEEP (hallelujah!)
-Plane rides which makes me jump for joy. She went through a 17 hour day of travel in different airports and planes with only one cry when they made me buckle her in. Otherwise she was all smiles or sleeping!
-Getting her first stamp of many in her passport

Doesn't Love:

-Tummy time all of a sudden, but she got so mad during her 3 month pictures that she got on one side almost to rolling over and lifted her head up while propped on her elbows. That is coming a long way for us!
-When I think she is hungry and she isn't. She will scream(no tears) and then keep bringing her head back and forth. I laughed once I realized what she was doing.

Want To Remember:

-The way her and Brad are back together now that she is bigger. They were both equally excited. I swear she remembers everything about him even after 2 months.
-Her little smiles when a sound should come and can't because she is so happy.
-When she only wants momma to snuggle her to sleep.
-Those big brown eyes looking at me while she eats.
-Her small personality growing so BIG right before my eyes!

Looking Forward To:

-Her first roll
-Watching her and Brad form a bond again and let's face it, her liking him better.
-Her in the snow!
-Witnessing he rove for basketball grow as we watch daddy play!
-Our travels all around Europe during Christmas. All her first are going to be great memories!

Weekend Happenings

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

We had a whirlwind of a weekend going on. Trying to fit in a whole lot of goodness before heading out to Luxembourg on Wednesday.

We started out heading to San Antonio to meet with some of Brads family for my brother-in-laws graduation from Air Force basic training. I had never been to one and it was breath taking being there. So proud of the man he matured into during the time and choosing to fight for our country.

There he is in the middle.

Brynns first Alamo experience!

Twin Peaks was his request for his birthday otherwise I would never go there! lol

This momma got a new do. Let me say I am obsessed. It's so easy and quick! This is the shortest and healthiest my hair has ever been. I'm sold.

Brynn big experienced her first pumpkin patch. By the looks of the pictures she had a blast. She couldn't keep her hands of the little pumpkin we picked for her once she touched it the first time.

Last Sunday church and lunch before heading out was great!

My sweet friend since 7th grade had baby girl! Brynn cried with her and then couldn't take her eyes off of her. Already protecting her BFF;) (I'll let her share the first photos)

So excited my next post will be reporting live from our new home! Stay tuned :)

DIY Headbands

Thursday, October 16, 2014

While we were in Florida my grandma and I attempted our first time at DIY tie headbands. I was spending about $8-$10 on each one for Brynn. We went to JoAnn Fabric and I was able to made 10 for $5! Talk about getting ripped off. I even found tons of the same material I had previously bought headbands in. Anyway, now that I know how to make them Brynn will always have the latest and greatest and they would be good gifts. I thought I would share with you guys the way we made them.

Supplies:

- 1/8 of a yard of your preferred fabric (the smallest amount you can purchase, this makes 2 headbands)
- straight pins
- cloth tape measurer
- scissors

- an amazing talented grandma to work her magic on the sewing machine and a little bitty sidekick ;)
- thread(you can do it by hand or with a sewing machine, we did a mixture of the two)

[1] Cut your fabric in two at 29"long and 4" wide.

[2] Turn your fabric inside out in half pinning the two edges together where they would meet up evenly.
[3] Sew the edges together while removing the straight pins as you go. Leave a small opening in the middle of the head band so you will be able to turn it right side out.
[4] I measured Brynn's head to know how long I needed them. Typically the ones I have ordered are 22" long and 2" wide.
[5] Once I measured we angled both ends of the headband and sewed them up.
[6] You then turn the headbands right side out and hand sew up the small opening with a matching thread.

[7] Ta-da!

Bad iPhone picture, but here is Brynn in the white one I made. I just tucked the two ends in.

*There may be a different or better way of making them, but this is the way that worked best for us!

Ocean Breeze

Friday, October 10, 2014

Brynn has finally been introduced to one of her favorites…. THE BEACH! She is destined to continue this love; her daddy is from Florida, Grams family lives in Florida, and momma has always loved the beach.

Now, she wasn't a huge fan of the wind at the beach. but didn't quite mind the water. She would make the silliest noises which are the same as when we first gave her a big girl bath in all the water. I had to share with you guys my TOP 5 favorite photos of her first time.
