Classy Winter Guide

Monday, December 8, 2014

With holiday parties starting to roll around I am sure a few of you have the more black tie/formal parties to attend. Let me see the last time I dressed up like that was probably prom (cue violins).

Brad and I have been talking a lot about him needing to pick up some blazers or suits, but that he would in all reality need to get sized with his dang 7 foot arm span. When Bonobos.com contacted me about putting together a winter style guide I was so excited to look at everything they have to offer. I have my eye on so many things that I need want Brad to have.

Bonobos has wonderful men styles from suits to blazers to chinos. They are out of NYC and have also started teaming up with Nordstrom. Men are always coming in wanting to know what to pair with what and also some information for their dates.

In my opinion I loved a good not necessarily matching, but matching couple. So, with this style guide I will pair some lovely dresses with some of my favorite items at Bonobos.com. I am extremely giddy to bring you guys this post!

Fall Fashion Pin-spiration

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Not gonna lie I pretty much base most outfits off things I see on Pinterest. Who doesn't wish that the moment you pin an outfit it would appear in your closet?! Then you click on one to find out where to buy it and it leads to NOWHERE, like why?!?! Here are some of my favorite fall outfits this year.

I obviously need some ankle booties and tall boots. It seems like they are in all outfits I pin. I was able to find a J. Crew puffer vest, Nasty Gal plaid scarf, and Baublebar tassel necklace. I still need to hunt down a crew neck sweater, the shoes I mentioned, and a baseball tee. Good thing for last year fashion of chambray shirts and plaid shirts.

What are you fall fashion favs?

eShakti

Saturday, November 1, 2014

Don't you hate when you want a shirt that covers your waist line and sure enough it's a crop top?! It's the cutest thing you've seen, but you just can't do the whole crop top thing anymore. Well, yep that's me ALWAYS. I fall in love with a shirt until I reach the dressing room and then I have to get a huge size that swallows me just to cover my pant zipper. eShakti can definitely take care of those problems.

I had seen so many different ads and things around of eShakti that absolutely intrigued me. When they contacted me to review an item I was pumped! For those of you that haven't heard basically they have clothing sizes 0-36W, but you can completely customize. You can pay the extra $7.50(free the first time) to have it customized to your size, shape and style. In my opinion it is way worth it!

The item I chose is this amazing cotton/polyester blend gray staple piece, you can never go wrong with gray. This shirt has the softest, moveable fabric. I love the oversized feel and look so that is what I went for when ordering. You can pair it with so many different things and dress it up or dress it down. You'll probably end up seeing me in yogas, this tee, and some comfy socks most days.

As you can see it does this weird thing by the boob area, but my boobs are at a weird point. Let's be real nursing bras do nothing for you.

Oh and this is outside our darling little home. :)

You can go get an item you love that fits perfectly now! You can get 10% off until November 24th with the code 'piecesofthereeselife'. Also, they have a constant deal on their website that if you sign up you can get $25 off your first order. They ship within 14 business days which seemed so fast for them customizing. Just great! The customer service was absolutely great and they responded quickly while being so pleasant. You don't want to miss out on this company, I'll tell ya that!

*I was compensated for the shirt, but all opinions are my own.

For Christmas I got the cutest sweater from my sweet friend Ashley. I finally wore it to church today so had Brad take some pictures. Christmas Wish List

Friday, November 22, 2013

Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year and since it is right around the corner though I would do a wish list! IF we were buying presents for each other this year Brad would be lucky to read this and have this handed to him. Oh wait, I do that anyway. Our initial plan was to take a trip to Paris or Rovaniemi here in Finland in lieu of gifts. Now we don't exactly know where we will be just yet for the Christmas with his surgery coming up and healing time BUT, we can always carry these items on to Valentines, My Birthday and Our Anniversary. ;)

These four things I have swooned over for quite some time now! J.Crew killed it with that vest. It is perfect in my eyes.

What are you ladies asking for this year?

Playing Catch Up

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

There really hasn't been anything too incredibly exciting going on except our normal day to day stuff. I figure now is as good of a time as any to do iPhone photo recaps of whats been up and just talk. Plus, I'm bowing out of Menu Monday this week since I am only doing two exciting dishes that I will post recipes and photos later as we eat them. :)

Hubs went moose hunting for the first time last Sunday! He was like a little kid in a candy store. Not my forte, but totally his.

We love getting precious pictures of our nieces and nephews, heres a few. They grow so much in 8 months! Wait, we just saw them 4 months ago! crazy...

Finally got to wear my new cardi for Brads game Saturday. A little peek of the outfit :)

Saturday Brad had a basketball game. It has been so rainy and ugly outside lately. We had the joys of walking in it to and from the game, but we got some photo action in. It was an awesome tough game.

After his game we came home and drank some of these Finnish ciders. Can you say yummy?! Boy do they sneak up on ya! We popped some popcorn and watched our boys play some football. Yes, Tech lost but we had an awesome game. OSU we're comin' for you!

We received an awesome little care package from our sweetest friends with our favorite goodies! I am particularly excited about the applesauce and caramel Starbucks coffee packets.

We are hoping my parents will be here in three weeks and then I am sure I will have many pictures of the adventures we will take them on! Have a blessed rest of the week! :)

It's Fall Y'all..Style Link Up

Monday, October 21, 2013

Stumbled upon this weeks link up on Pretty Lucky Mama and I love the idea of a weekly link up! Like I have mentioned before we have kind of skipped fall here and are in close to full blown winter, but still these fall fashions will be part of my winter wardrobe as well. I'm really lovin' layers, so here we go...
Denim with an oversized sweater is oh so cozy & stylish.

As I never stop raving about, army jacket & combats are ideal. This scenery is about what I am dealing with.

Stripes & Plaid who would have thought? So darling to say the least!

Not a huge camo fan, but in a vest form and paired with stripes is a must! Plus that bag!

These are definitely a few of my favorite styles for fall! Pinterest as overloads of ideas and why can't what I pin just appear in my closet? Wishful thinking.

This Link Up hosted by : Life With the Hawleys, Baby Bound & The Bradleys. Be sure to check out their fall style link ups too!

Cuddling up to Winter Favs

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

As it seems we sort of skip what I think is Fall and head right into Winter here in Finland I thought I would share some of my favorite must-have WInter items and of course scrumptious goodies.

*Some links to similar items.

{One} Combat boots in all seriousness are one of the greatest shoe inventions. I love how you can dress them up to be girly or more grunge. You can never go wrong with a good pair. I am lucky enough to own some that have good traction on the bottom so I can wear them here in the snow.

{Two} An army coat is such a cute accessory to an outfit especially if it keeps you warm. I found one here in Finland with embellished pockets and it is just to die for. I feel as though like combat boots you too can make it girly or grunge. They even make them with hoods. Like an army coat with a hood, what is better?!

{Three} Oversized sweaters as we know are one of my large obsessions. Pairing them with some leggings or a pair of jeans is perfect for me.

{Four} Beanies have become stylish and cute these days and boy am i thankful for that. Here in Finland I actually need them for warmth or my ears may fall off, but they are just too cute for explainin'.

{Five} Ear warmers once again weren't always stylish. Etsy sure does have a huge selection of some darling ones. Also, H&M if you have one of those near you are just overflowing with cute knotted ones.

{Six} Big chunky scarves are the perfect accessory in a frozen tundra. I love how this one in the particular picture can cover up over your head also. If you live in a chilly place you could definitely use one of these and if not you could for sure use one too!

{Seven} Essie WInter Collection. This is just some of them, but I own the first one on top and the last one and top and they are the perfect shade for items I love to wear during winter. I can never seem to live without any Essie nail polish.

{Eight} A crisp white bracelet or any piece of jewelry always pairs good with winter outfits. The first and last bracelets I found at Icing a long time ago. The middle bracelet came in a set I received  a gift from Baublebar. Gold/white or silver/white are my perfect winter accessory.

*Links to recipes for the scrumptious food items.

{One} Homemade Chicken and Noodles. We always eat this in the winter time in my family. We always smother mashed potatoes with the chicken and noodles and have a side of my Grandpas baked beans. It's one of my favorite comfort foods homemade noodles and all. Now don't get it confused with chicken noodle soup you have got to read the recipe. :)

{Two} Chili. I really used to hate Chili, but as I've grown up and we learned an awesome recipe in Czech Republic from a teammate of Brads I have been hooked! I can't help but eat it in the summer too it's just that good.

{Three} Beef Vegetable Stew. My mom would always make this since I was little by just throwing it in the crockpot before school. I only wish we had a crockpot here to make it so much easier. Once again it's a comfort thing. I sure do miss my family around these times.

{Four} Gilled Cheese with Tomato Soup. Yup, like most I also eat this all year round, but it is especially good on a cold winters day. I like to add avocado and tomato to mine every once in a while for a little flare.

{Five} Swiss miss Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows. I could drink this every minute of every day. I actually found it at one of the stores here, GO ME!

{Six} Apple Spice Cider. Nothing is better than some that has been homemade, but sometimes the pre packaged is just as good. Coming home from a cold walk outside with your whole body frozen and having a mug of cider is THE best.

{Seven} ANYTHING PUMPKIN. I love pumpkin pies, muffins, cheesecake, bread, milkshakes, cookies and the list goes on. I can never get enough pumpkin. They do sell it here in a city about 30 minutes away and let me tell you it is worth the trip. I am thankful my mom sent me a can in the goodie box to hold me over.

Which of your favorites make you want to cuddle up to Winter?!
