Mom takes Europe

Monday, February 2, 2015

Missing my mom so much today. Well, every day. My moms time here went by insanely fast. We had such a blast taking her around and showing her our lifestyle. We made sure to take her to Cologne, Germany, Trier, Germany and all around Luxembourg. We should have gotten her to Belgium or France with them being so close, but we wanted days to just lay around. Oh and you know we had to indulge in many pastries!

Brynn and my mom picked their relationship up right where it left off. Late night snuggles while my mom sings her favorite worship songs was my favorite to watch. My mom watched Brynn while letting Brad and I have 3 nights in 10 days to ourselves. Thats a miracle in itself! It was such a sad time to drop her off at the airport. Praying the next 3 months fly by to when Brynn and her grams are reunited! I also will be pretty selfish when first getting home in hogging my mom. No shame.

Photo dumping the best way I know how….

Trier, Germany

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Where do I even begin…. Trier is the oldest city in Germany being founded before 16 BCE. Trier is just a short 25 minutes away from us(love being centrally located to everywhere). Trier has some breathtaking sights, wonderful clothing shops, and yummy bakeries. Luxembourg is cheaper than Finland was and Germany is significantly cheaper than Luxembourg in the grocery department. Also, way cheaper disposable diapers for our little bugs night time use.

We went this last Wednesday during a gloomy rainy day, but it didn't take away from our time or it's beauty.

- Our first stop was Porta Nigra. It is a large Roman city gate into Trier built between 186 to 200 AD.

-We then strolled the centre and shopped around taking in all things fall.

- Our next stop was the Cathedral of Trier. It is the oldest Cathedral in the country dating back to 1270.

Your not supposed to take pictures inside with flash so I had to capture the gorgeous stain glass windows.
- Before we headed back home we stopped at a small bakery to have some goods and Lattes. Or in dads case tea!

Well hello there Luxembourg

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

We arrived in Luxembourg late Thursday night to my sweet husband and the most beautiful roses I've seen. Mind you they are still beautifully bloomin'.We live in a quaint little village called Ernzen and our house is back in the woods. Chickens and all, I adore it. The weather has been really nice. Cool, but such a refreshing change from the heat in Texas. My dad is here with us and so we are trying to do a little bit of sight seeing before he leaves on Nov. 3rd.

Yesterday we decided to park and walk around the centre of Luxembourg City and take the elevator down to The Grund(lower city). The centre has tons of shops, restaurants, and bakery's. Deep inside the Centre you can't drive so the brick streets are crowded with walking people. My favorite! I love the mix of old and new buildings they have. We are definitely in Europe y'all. Let me just go ahead and photo dump…..

Stay tuned for my next travel post about Trier, Germany!

Florida Dreamin'

Thursday, October 2, 2014

Tomorrow afternoon we are off to the Tampa area!

I have been looking forward to this trip since we booked the flights back in May. We will get to see a lot of my moms family and soak up some much needed sunshine/beach time.

It is Brynn's first flight, but I know she will do great. Her being only 10 weeks will make it that much easier. Especially since I will be holding her and she is happy go lucky anytime a person holds her. I have taken lots of advice to feed her taking off and landing to help with her ears. She isn't too much into her toys yet, but loves to look /feel them. So, I've decided I'm bringing some along in her diaper bag. I'll be wrapping her on in my Solly baby wrap and there we go! We will both be much happier that way.

Now, packing for 2 for 11 days in a suit case and carry-on is quite interesting. We started off with our 2 5 day trips and I thought packing was hard then. I know this is all just preparing me to pack in 2 suitcases come end of October for 7 months. You definitely learn what you need want and don't as the trips go on.

Next up I'll more than likely be blogging from Florida with some gorgeous pictures I am sure. I'll leave you with some Brynn cuteness to end your day. :)

Brynn is so excited for our trip!

Do any of you have tips/tricks for flying/packing with an infant?

Michigan trip!

Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Hope all of you beauties had a great weekend!

This last Thursday Brad, my mom and I headed out for a long weekend in Michigan for my cousin Sams' graduation from High School. I had definitely been looking forward to this trip for quite some time. We hadn't been there since I was 16 and Brad was finishing off meeting the rest of my family on my moms side. We had yet to meet my cousins two sweet boys so we soaked up lots of time with them.

The weather was absolutely beautiful in the 40s-60s. I will say it is nice to be back in scorching hot weather in Texas. Although, I wish we could have brought all the beautiful green grass and trees with us!

The two full flying days were pretty brutal on my preggo feet so I got a nice relaxing pedicure today before I finished off our loads and loads of laundry. Just 6 days of work left until I will start my extreme nesting for baby Brynn! Here is my photo dump from our trip! ENJOY!

Lunch at Cheap Charlies. So sad I will never have there breadsticks and cheese sauce again during my pregnancy.

My mom and her siblings. (missing one more)

The graduate Sam!

Our sweet family, missing some.

We had bonfires two nights and they were our favorite.
