Metz, France

Monday, November 9, 2015

Another city my brother and I hit up was Metz, France. Brynnie, Brady and I decided to take the train(Brynn was a champ this time around) and venture out by ourselves while Brad had a day full of practices. I had Metz on my list of must see cities for awhile now. I'm so happy I was able to experience this city with my brother. Maybe we got lost more than not, but boy were some of these sights gorgeous. If you arrive by train have google maps accessible or get a map prior to. I don't think I ever want to go back to this city, but it was worth seeing once to get all the sights out of my system I kept starring at. Below I've shared some of my favorite photos!

You can't be in France without Crepes.

A Day Trip to Maastricht, Netherlands

Thursday, November 5, 2015

My brother is here in Europe spending 10 days with us. You know we had to hit up as many countries as possible. We are sticking to anything 2 hours or less around us. We will have hit 5 countries in all, including Luxembourg. After exploring Luxembourg and Trier, which we are pros at we decided to explore a beautiful city in the Netherlands. Maastricht is a beautifully historic city with lots of great shopping and treats. I love the design and set up of all the homes and buildings in the Netherlands. I added an extra 50 photos of them to my collection from Easter. The gorgeous, sunny, 62 degree weather we had made our day much better. We have had lots of gloom and rain as of late here in Lux. I won't ransack with hundreds of photos. Here are a few of my favorites from the day. Enjoy!

A Day Trip: Cochem, Germany

Monday, September 21, 2015

On Saturday this party of three set off for an hour in a half trip to small city Cochem, Germany. Now, it really is a lost gem. Such a quaint, gorgeous city. It sits on the Mosel River with the beautiful Reichsburg Castle sitting up on a hill. There was a wine festival going on which made the city a little overcrowded. That didn't stop us from being able to see everything and just enjoy the day. We didn't have much of an agenda that day. We had lunch, dessert and wandered all over. There were quite a few small parks. So, we stopped there with Brynn. Until she started to eat the rocks and sand that is. We walked up to the castle which took 20 minutes with an extremely steep road. Lots of panting and sweating went on. Later seeing that there was a city bus that took you right up to the entrance of the castle. Once we got up there it was completely worth the view. The castle was also surrounded by vineyards. We got to witness a bride and her parents driving up in a vintage car for them to give her away at her wedding. All in all our day trip was just what we needed before the crazy, long season starts on Saturday.
