Family Camp

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

This past weekend our family (Brad, mom, dad, and I) headed out to House of Faith Family Camp. It is held on the Frio River at a Foundation camp called HEB Camp. For any Texans, most of you have probably been around the area or heard of it.

I had been going there since I was in Jr.High with my youth group, but had never been to this exact camp site or with House of Faith. I didn't know quite what to expect, but I absolutely adored meeting so many of the families that are connected to the kids that go to House of Faith and get to minister to them, but also help out to make their camp experience great.

There was an event held where each family made a car out of cardboard, duct tape, and paint. Each car had to have at least 2 family members running inside of the box. There were many crashes and some awesome cars. It was hilarious. My dad and Brad made a car (if you want to call it that), but fellow racers crashed into them and made them disconnect so they got disqualified.
They say that they were transformers and they hooked arms to run.

They held lots of different activities for free time also. They had craft time where you could paint a small canvas, which I made one for Brynn's nursery. The families could swim, canoe, fish, play any of the sports, and participate in the annual kick ball tournament. Brad fished majority of the time and it was so nice getting to just sit with him during that. He gets so excited and there were some HUGE catfish!

Every morning and night the services were held which is when I helped watch and play with the 2 & 3 year olds. They are so sweet and had such personalities. Brad did games and lessons with some of the older kids which is right up his alley. On Saturday night they held a talent show. There were hilarious acts and some that could sing. Such big voices from little bodies!

It was one of the longest days where you would sit down only to eat, but it was so amazing to watch the kids eyes light up and their families become closer. I am so thankful that our family is a part of House of Faith.

House guests

Sunday, March 23, 2014

I finally found a down moment to write my post about our house guests the past week or so!

As I mentioned, my friend Ashley from college came to stay for a weekend to start off her Spring Break. We did the typical girls reunite thing and shopped, ate, got coffee, and shopped some more. Was able to buy myself some much needed Spring/Summer clothes that will grow with me and get Brynn some things. I swear I now go into every store leaving with something for her. I truly miss Ashley's company when she isn't here. In college we did quite a bit together and she literally lived down the street. I miss her so much already, but husband and I are going to visit her and her hubby April 12th weekend for her pre-birthday celebrations! :D

I think my belly was on big mode because now it isn't that big.

Our second house guest was my brother Brady from Iowa for a week. He works at Iowa State and so they were on their Spring Break also. We were so happy he got to come down again. The last time he came was Brad and my Spring Break 3 years ago. This time around we didn't do anything too huge except walk our KOA so he could see the view and the pretty houses, had a fro-yo date, and celebrated St.Patty's. I was their lovely DD. My dad, Brad, and Brady did go out to the ranch to shoot and all those kinds of things too. It was so good to just spend time even if we were just watching TV together until I went to work. I really miss him being around and wish we all lived closer. We will get to see him, my other brother, and the rest of our Iowa family in September when we take baby Brynn!

I have some of the best family and friends! Thank you for coming you two!

Have a blessed Sunday you guys!

Currently

Monday, March 17, 2014

As you can see I have changed my blog template/layout over to something more simple. I have been liking the grays so decided to do just that. I'm sure eventually I will love something else and yet again it'll change.

I don't have a super exciting blog post just yet until all of our house guests leave. So, decided to pick up on this currently blog post idea and do that.

Making: Baby girl's nursery and our birth plans.

Anticipating: Heading out to Lubbock and then Dallas in April!

Listening to: HGTV,  Love It or List It and let me add I am absolutely obsessed with this show.

Learning: That patience is VERY important and crucial during pregnancy. I seem to want everything to rush and her be here already, but I am enjoying the last 4 months of just Brad and I.

Wearing: VS sweats and a Tee. The most comfortable things while growing this belly.

Enjoying: having company. My sweet friend Ashley just left yesterday and my brother Brady from Iowa is here until Friday.

Looking at: This lovely Macbook keyboard.

Reading: Blue Dahlia by Nora Roberts, it is so far so good and yet heart wrenching at the same time from the beginning 3 chapters I've read thus far.

Hope you guys have a blessed day!

Celebrating my amazing husband.

Monday, March 10, 2014

Yesterday, 26 years ago my amazing husband was born.

This is my 5th birthday to spend with him and I am so blessed to be able to spend a lifetime more with him. Brad is one of the most humble men I have ever came into contact with and I feel so proud to be his wife. We spent the day celebrating him with my family and our friends.

We started the day with church, lunch at Cheddar's, and then a BBQ with everyone at 5.

Our spread for the BBQ included: Hamburgers, hotdogs, boudin sausage, vegetable skewers, queso, fruit mix, and I made him a Red Velvet cake with Cream Cheese frosting. His absolute favorite that his Aunt used to make him for every birthday.

It is even more of a blessing watching all those that showed up to celebrate him and the way they truly adore him.
So my decorating skills aren't all that, but it tasted great.

My dad gettin' down on the grill.

I will always make him blow out candles...

and take a picture with his cake.

It was a fun evening!

Introducing Baby Girls Name

Friday, March 7, 2014

Happy Friday!!

Well, we were definitely going to wait until she was born to share her name, but we just love it so much that we don't care what people say. Brad was a little worried about peoples comments that would piss him off or someone taking it. Protective daddy already.

Brad and I have loved this name since before we were pregnant. We thought long and hard and wanted something unique, but that also went with our names. This is actually the only girl name we both loved. Of course I want people to love her name even though I know once she is here no one is going to say, "oh she is beautiful, but why did you pick that name?" People sure are bold with their snooty comments. I am pregnant so either I'll go off on you or cry.

 BRYNN RENEE REESE

I first heard Brynn(pronounced: Bren) from Bethenny from House Wives. I've never personally met anyone named that so that is a plus. I'm sure now I will hear it tons. Renee is my best friend since the first day of 7th grade. She is the one that has stuck by my side no matter how crazy I got during all of our growing up years. She is still my best friend to this day and I have always wanted my littles middle name to be hers.

Meaning of Brynn: Hill
Meaning of Renee: Reborn

Well, Brads name means Broad Meadow and mine is a babbling brook. So, I suppose our family names make a beautiful scenery ;)

We can't wait to meet our sweet Brynn!

20 Week Bumpdate

Thursday, March 6, 2014

How far along: 20 weeks

Size of baby: Mango!

Baby's size and weight: 11 ounces and 7 inches head to bottom!

My total weight gain: 10 pounds, I swear I'm lighter on my scale at home ;)

Baby's development: Those legs of hers have gotten even longer! My those feet too are huge! She will probably pass me up in height one day. :) Brad says oh she definitely has your big head ha.

Stretch marks: None yet! I use that cream every night to be safe. My belly sure has grown these past few weeks, but it sure looks different in every outfit I wear.

Wedding Ring: On.

Belly Button: In still, but it looks funny.

Maternity clothes: Bella Band, a pair of capris(I was given), and bought three shirts. Even though I think the price is all that is different than regular clothes since they fit generally the same. Oh well, they are cute!

Gender: GIRL!!

Movement: I've only felt flutters a few times and so I freak out, but she is well and growing!

Sleep: Good for naps, but toss and turn at night.

What I miss: Tons of energy.

Food cravings: Vanilla light & fit greek yogurt with chocolate granola still and sweet golden snacking tomatoes(weird, I know). Woke up for the first time last night starving for pineapple. Good thing we had some cut up in the fridge.

Symptoms: Stuffy nose is it. I've also gotten some pretty bad acid reflex and heartburn. The smoothie Tums are now my best friend.

Nursery: Have all the furniture and just need to sand it/stain it. We have ordered the mobile, sheets, and some pillows. The sheets, 2 pillows, and a surprise for the wall behind the crib arrived, but waiting on the rest to come in still! Have all colors picked and can't wait to get all the projects going so I can share it with you guys!

Brad isbeing so sweet with my emotions. I cried when I washed his wallet :P

What I'm looking forward to: Sharing her name, possibly tomorrow! Be on the look out :D Baby girls shower. We are doing it in May since I have two friends leaving for Europe and I registered already! I'm way ahead because I'm so excited!

Best moments: Seeing her kick her legs up and stretch her arms was pure sweetness! Calling her a "her". Seeing all my family in Florida and them rubbing my belly. She also got very spoiled with gifts while we were there. :D oh, the joys of knowing I am halfway there or possibly even a little more than halfway makes my heart scream! I can't wait to lay my eyes on her.

Wishing I would have gotten a picture of her legs, feet, and arms because they are massive!

Saddle up

Tuesday, March 4, 2014

On February 27th I took Brad to his very first Rodeo/Fair experience. I had been so excited planning this little date. If your from Texas or even San Angelo everyone knows that Rodeo time is the best time. I hadn't been since probably Sophomore year of High School since I was away at College and then overseas.

His favorite part was the bull riding which has always been my favorite also. Everything is so exciting, but bull riding has that thrill. A Red Raider and a guy from Lubbock qualified in two different events. Proud.

We obviously didn't ride any rides, but we walked around after, ate lots of food, and played some games. Funnel Cake, Nachos, and Lemonade were tasty, but it probably wasn't the best idea to only have that for dinner.

Pictures always do the best talking of a fun date night.

Bull Riding, our favorite part!

I waited for this for SO long.

Twinsies 50th Birthday Party

Sunday, March 2, 2014

As you all know we had a previous surprise party for my momma on her actual BIRTHday, but my aunt and uncle had been planning a BIG 50th party in Florida with my moms twin and all the family.

Let me just say it was A-MAZE-ing. We had the party at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Football Stadium. We were right up top by the pirate ship. I had personally never been to a professional football stadium so it was so cool to see it all and especially not crowded. Even though I bet it is a blast with all the fans. Boy, did we sweat our booties off until the sun went down.

We had some appetizers and then a YUMMY meal. It included salad, chicken, hangar steak, rolls, potatoes, veggie medley and of course birthday cake. Which I didn't get a picture of.

I was so happy for my momma and her twin Tom to finally be able to celebrate their birthday together. All but one of my moms siblings showed up so that to was a blessing. I am extra happy that Brad and I were able to be home to participate in all the festivities. I would have totally felt left out. We had such an amazing time! Now for a large photo dump of the party. Enjoy!

Birthday Girl

My sweet grandma & grandpa

My cousin Makenzie.

The tasty meal!

Birthday twins!

They felt cheesy that we made them do this and there are the spouses on the edges admiring their beauties :)
