Frisco quick trip

Monday, April 21, 2014

This past weekend I flew up to Frisco for 24 hours for my friend Nattie's Bridal Shower. We were roommates in college at Tech and she was also in my wedding! I had been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time since I have not seen her or our other friends that live in Frisco since a trip Brad & I made there last May.

I got in about 7 am on Saturday and we headed straight to Natties house to get everything together for the Bridal Brunch. Nattie is so crafty and had such cute things set up.

Some of the tasty goodies for the brunch.

Mimosa Bar!

These juices were so good. I of course had ZERO champagne.

Miss Jayda & I(We went to Tech together also.)

The bride in white and the bridesmaids.

Bride-to-be!!

Sweet bride posing with my gift I got her.

After the shower festivities I went with Jayda to Denton to meet up with our other friend from college, Natalie. We headed for a night of Sushi at Mr. chopsticks and Sundaes at The Square.
The weather was beautiful so we rode with the top down.

Miss Natalie and I

I had the absolute best 24 hours I had in awhile and was so glad to catch up with these ladies. I am so excited I get to see them in just 2 weeks again for my baby shower!!

Brad, my parents, and I will be traveling back up to Dallas for me to be in her wedding June 26th. We are all going and bringing my packed hospital bags just in case miss thing decides to make an early 36 1/2 week appearance. You never know how my body or her will react with the 4 hour road trip and tons of dancing.

Ju Ju Be Diaper Bag

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

I finally received my diaper bag a few weeks ago and have been eager to share it with you guys! I had originally had my heart set on a Skip Hop one from Nordstrom, but it wasn't machine washable and didn't have a zipper closure which turned me off. Now, let me tell you I am over the moon in love with this diaper bag. Yes, my mom and I paid a pretty penny for it, but I definitely think it is worth it!

JU JU BE B.F.F. Legacy Collection: The First Lady

Look at that darling gold detail. I die.

Handy mommy pocket that includes: stretch key fob, sunglasses pocket with microfiber inside to clean the lenses, and a few extra pockets. I did buy a small zipper bag to add my essentials in that.

The inside. 2 more bottle pockets, 4 gusseted pockets, 3 zipper pockets and tons of space. I plan on vertical packing things if all works the way I have imagined in my head. Let's be real will that really happen? Probably not.

Photo area or in their words mommas brag spot.

2 outside insulated bottle/sippy cup packets.

Memory foam changing pad. Oh what luxuries our little babes have.

3 ways to wear. Brad is especially excited about the backpack for whenever he gets diaper bag duty.

Extra Features:
-Teflon fabric protector
-Antimicrobial Linings
-Crumb Drains
-Insulation Throughout
-PVC Free

What diaper bag are you ladies crushing on?

Last trip to Lubbock before our little.

Monday, April 14, 2014

On Friday we made our journey up to Lubbock for our last free for all with friends before Brynn makes her appearance. I can't believe we already only have 14 weeks left so we are calming down our travels a bit to prepare.

We stayed the weekend with our friends Eli and Ashley to celebrate her early birthday since we won't be able to be there on Easter. Our weekend was mainly focused around food and shopping that we have missed out on. Typical right.

-Of course our absolute first stop on Friday night was Steak 'n Shake. I got the Chocolate Banana shake and Brad got the Cookies 'n Cream.

-On Saturday the boys headed to the Texas Tech Spring Football Game and us girls started our shopping trip. Getting coffee before you shop is always a must. Decaf for me please!

We stopped off at La Madeline for lunch and it was a good different meal than what we always get. It reminds me a lot of McAlister's, even though nothing trumps McAlister's Chicken Salad Sandwich. Our shopping trip was quite the success for my baby shower dress, clothes for Brynn, pillows for her nursery and of course some random nonsense I really did didn't need.

I mean looks at Ash's miss smarty pants pup… Cute or what?!
This is Addie ladies and gents.

For dinner we met up with Brads best friend Kolby and his girlfriend Rema for Hibachi at Hayashi. We didn't sit at a table where they cook in front of you because we are way too classy and needed our own room ;)

We had to end our Saturday night catching up on Scandal. That show quite frankly runs our lives from time to time.

-On Sunday Ash and I woke up bright and early to go get donuts and kolaches from Rise 'n Shine. YUM is all I have to say. I hadn't had donuts in so long and they hit the spot. We made our stop by Red Raider Outfitters to check out the latest and greatest before leaving town. Brynn and I lucked out :)
You know I can't go without a lavender Tech shirt.

-On another note, while we were away our beautiful fur baby Allie turned 1 year old! I remember bringing her home at 5 weeks and how tiny she was. She weighs in at 5.5 pounds of pure sweetness.

I hope all of you sweeties have a wonderful week!

24 Week Bumpdate

Thursday, April 3, 2014

How far along: 24 weeks

Size of baby: Cantaloupe or Ear of corn whichever you prefer. She is probably more like an ear of corn long and skinny.

Baby's size and weight: 10.8 inches and 1.3 pounds

My total weight gain: 15 lbs. Thinking I need to slow my role a bit with the cravings.

Baby's development: Can't see through her skin as much and she has a pink glow(pink glow? I die. I bet she is too cute!) thanks to her capillaries. Taste buds are continuing to grow and her lungs are forming the branches!

Stretch marks: None yet! Still living off my cream.

Wedding Ring: On.

Belly Button: In still, but it looks funny.

Maternity clothes: I've got a few, but still use my bella band often to wear regular jeans. Seem to be stretching into all my regular v-necks and tees. I just really hate spending tons on clothes I will only wear 4 more months.

Gender: GIRL!!

Movement: ALL THE TIME! It still brings tears to my eyes and a smile on my face every time. I could just stare at my belly and watch it move all weird forever.

Sleep: Good for naps, but toss and turn at night.

What I miss: feeling normal in clothes and in my skin, but I know it's only temporary.

Food cravings: Vanilla light & fit greek yogurt with chocolate granola still and fruit, specifically pineapple and watermelon.

Symptoms: Just the heart burn and acid reflux lately. Hopefully TUMs and zantac can start to control it a bit.

Nursery: Well her accent wall, crib, twin bed, and dresser/changing table is up and in place!! I can't wait to do a nursery before/after reveal. For now here is a little peek.

Brad isso excited when he gets to feel her kicking. I am so glad to share in this with him. There is no one else I rather. Which is good since we are married and all :P

What I'm looking forward to: the baby shower! It is May 4th and my sweet friends and momma have had meetings and made the cutest invites! Can't wait for everyone to receive them in the mail! 3D Ultrasound at my 28 week appt. May 1st! Wahoo!

Best moments: Hearing her crazy heartbeat again while it goes in and out because she is so active. Having energy to start up her nursery and wash some of her things. She is slowly becoming organized with all of her goodies.

*Glucose testing next time, YUCK!
