I'm married to a 27 year old.

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

Yesterday we celebrated the cutest, sweetest 27 year olds birthday.

My main man always says, "Oh, I don't need anything.", "Let's just do dinner with us.", etc. You think I would really listen? So, a surprise dinner party was planned, a painting from Brynn, and a Garmin Vivo Smart from me.

I was so excited to plan the dinner honoring my husband. He is so selfless and always thinks about everyone else year round. Brynn and I are so lucky every day of the year to have such a caring and loving man.

The making of Brynns art work for daddy. She obviously thoroughly enjoyed it. Or maybe it was getting her picture taken.

Thank you to all of our friends for coming to celebrate Brads birthday!

I of course had to continue the tradition(5 years now) of making him a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

Can't wait to see where next years birthday has us in life. I love you beyond and am so thankful for you!

Celebrating my amazing husband.

Monday, March 10, 2014

Yesterday, 26 years ago my amazing husband was born.

This is my 5th birthday to spend with him and I am so blessed to be able to spend a lifetime more with him. Brad is one of the most humble men I have ever came into contact with and I feel so proud to be his wife. We spent the day celebrating him with my family and our friends.

We started the day with church, lunch at Cheddar's, and then a BBQ with everyone at 5.

Our spread for the BBQ included: Hamburgers, hotdogs, boudin sausage, vegetable skewers, queso, fruit mix, and I made him a Red Velvet cake with Cream Cheese frosting. His absolute favorite that his Aunt used to make him for every birthday.

It is even more of a blessing watching all those that showed up to celebrate him and the way they truly adore him.
So my decorating skills aren't all that, but it tasted great.

I will always make him blow out candles...

and take a picture with his cake.

It was a fun evening!

It's the little things: Week 3

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

I have tons of blog posts pending for me to finish and work up, but I just haven't wanted to post them yet. With that being said I am so glad it is Wednesday again to link-up with Ashley and Jessica for It's the Little Things! Make sure you guys join up and link too!

Yesterday we had almost everything shut down due to black ice. So, I got to spend the day curled up watching TV/Movies with my husband and mom, ALL DAY! It was the nicest day. Since I nanny and school was cancelled the dad stayed home. It was extremely too cold for Brad to go to work since he works outside. My dad braved the roads to get us a few goodies from a close by store and take us to Taco Tuesday at Rosas for dinner. Wait, who am I kidding he is a yankee and was so pumped to drive in it.

Sadly, back to reality today. My awesome husband will do anything for our little family and is working since 7:45 am in 20 degree weather. He is such an amazing man. Everyday when I hear his alarm go off he gets up instantly. I am so not that person. He never complains and truly enjoys this job while he can't play ball while rehabbing. Our sweet baby girl and I are two of the luckiest girls.

The little things of a "ice" day home make your week and get you ready for the soon to be warm weather to hit! Hope all of you are having an awesome week! It's almost Valentines and the weekend!!

Oh, Monday

Monday, November 11, 2013

Monday your back. I normally loathe Mondays, but I have learned to love them while living overseas since it's a week closer to seeing family. Today marks two weeks until mom & dad arrive. Wahoo! You better believe I'm counting down.

I was actually able to open my blinds this morning with a purpose. I was just rambling to a friend that the sun literally hasn't come out for two weeks. What do ya know the sun is bright and shining today! Now that is how I know it is a glorious Monday! Thanks God for making me shut my trap about the gloomy, yuck weather! The sun normally sets around 3:50 so I've got about 2 in a half hours of it left. I'll take all I can get. :)

Brad was off Friday-Sunday which NEVER happens and I soaked up every minute of it. Now he is off to shoot around and our weekly routine begins. We didn't do anything to glorious to write about this weekend. Basketball was of course on our agenda, having some friends over for wine and card games, baking/frosting some cookies, watching the Wolverine and some SNOW on Sunday!

Back to basketball for a minute... I need to also brag on my husband for a minute... I mean, of course, I completely think he is an amazing ball player, but to see multiple websites talk about how great they think he is it just makes me burst with joy! He gives his all 100% of the time and he deserves some recognition. At his game on Thursday he had 33 points and 7 rebounds while winning player of the game. For those of you that know Brad and those that don't he is the most humble athlete I have encountered. I had never dated an "athlete" in college before, but he totally took away all the stereotypes. He isn't cocky and lets his love for the Lord shine through his game. It is a blessing to get to watch him play and see how many lives he touches.

Now, pictures of our weekend :)
He won a gift card and some of the best chocolate!
