Five on Friday & a 15 week bump date!

Friday, January 31, 2014

Back again! Make sure you go and check out these 4 awesome bloodspot.com blogs for all the other 5 on Fridays!

[ONE] Dannon Light&Fit Greek Vanilla Yogurt with HEB brand Granola with Dark Chocolate Chunks in it! This right here is my new obsession. At night I literally can't wait to wake up again to eat it! Lets just say I am so happy to have a semi healthy craving. I mean this is definitely better than Frosty's.

[TWO] 15 week bump date! Well hello belly, you sure are starting to stick out. I have noticed that bloating has started to subside and so hopefully that means a little round bump is about to pop. Still at my 2 pound gain in all. I am more than sure I'll eventually blow up. Cravings just my #1 so far. Still haven't got into maternity clothes yet, but using my Bella Band often. Mainly because my shirts are a little too short. A friend was just telling me to check out Asos. I definitely will be doing so since we head to Florida in 3 weeks. Mainly SO excited for our reassurance of gender on Feb. 13th! Valentines I'll have a sweet blog to share for all of you lovelies! Also, we got our impulse sale buy of stroller/car seat travel system in last night and got that all set up so the smell of plastic will go away!

[THREE] Florida! It is all that has been on my mind lately. Just the sound of the beach and that beautiful sound. Oh and family! Brad leaves the 15th and we leave the 18th! My mom turns 50 so her twin and her will be having a big 'ol party at the Buccaneers stadium! SO FUN! I know the weather has been crap there lately, but the Tampa area not so much. In three weeks It'll be totally ready for us!

[FOUR] Parenting classes. Brad and I have started these free parenting classes through the Pregnancy Help Center here in San Angelo. You get points every time you attend to buy stuff in their shop. It is really so awesome! I am mainly going to use my points towards diapers and wipes. They occasionally get breast pumps or larger items so I am going to save all my points up in case of that! When we started they were doing a 25 week class on Manhood. I know sounds like thats all for Brad, but it has been so awesome! It is helping me to see why he may act the way he does also. I know it is really helping him out too. We heard the quote last night, "God only uses a man after he wounds him." Well, yes hello Jesus! I was in tears to say the least.

[FIVE] Allie my fur pup. I mean serially she is the best little animal to walk the earth in my eyes. She has been so sweet and cuddly lately! She also totally loved the stroller! I would say she is in full big sister mode:D

I hope you all have a blessed Friday and weekend!

It's the Little Things: Quality Time

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

I found another awesome link-up over at Words About Waverly! The "It's the Little Things" link-up  is going to be especially fun for me so that every week I can reflect on the little things going on in my life. Personally the little things is what keeps me sane and going.

For me, quality time with my husband has been a huge little thing. Well, that sounds funny. Lately, we have been almost as ships passing through the night so when there are those days we can just sit on the couch or lay in bed and catch up on shows together, it makes me so happy.

Yesterday, he didn't work since it was too cold out and so we were able to hit a basketball game and Buffalo for dinner together. I often forget what it is like just the two of us without friends and family, as I've said in my last blog. Just to set our phones aside and stare at each other and basically catch up is so sweet.

I came upon a post yesterday on Facebook, To Wives: Before you were Mommy. In a gist it talks about how before you were mommy or daddy you were each others. It is important to remeber that the two of us and our love is what made our family. I am already starting to be mindful of this since Brad and I are in the stages of our worlds revolving around getting ready for our sweet babe.

You guys be sure to stop by Words About Waverly and read everyone else's little things! It's fun to see all the differences!

5 on Friday with a 14 week bump date!

Friday, January 24, 2014

I have decided to FINALLY participate in 5 on Friday after seeing so many blogs I follow do the same.  Be sure to stop by a. liz adventures, carolina charm, hello! happiness, and the good life blog to see everyones 5 on Friday!

ONE. Date Nights. Brad and I hadn't been on a just the two of us date night in SO long. I really missed  it being just him and I. I actually missed our overseas lives. We started with dinner at Logan's Roadhouse, made a Target pit stop because no date night is complete without it, and ended at the movies to see The Ride Along. We just love Kevin Hart and there are so many good movies coming out soon!

TWO. Nannying. I started my job with two girls ages 7 and 9 on Wednesday. I absolutely adore them. They are quite hilarious and keep me on my toes. I only work about 2 hours a day and boy does it fly by. I swear the pick up line at school is what takes the most time. Man, there is some dedicated mommas there 10 minutes before school even gets out.

THREE. Frosty's. I just can't get over how much I love them right now. My mom tried to say chocolate ice-cream is the same, but it definitely is not.

FOUR. 14 Weeks. Today marks 14 weeks and I am anxious to find out the sex(or be reassured)! Our little babe is the size of an Orange or about that. I swear no joke I felt FLUTTERS yesterday! No no it wasn't gas. I did research though to make sure I wasn't dreaming and sure enough you can feel flutters after 13 weeks and kicks etc. not until 17 weeks or after. Of course, every momma is different. I bought a Bella Band for two pairs of pants that are too uncomfortable to button. I can zip them and that is about it. I was given some maternity clothes and am so excited to start getting a big belly to fit them! My belly definitely looks bigger looking down than from the side. We also hung up our first two baby items! We have tons of other things but not that can be hung up. Last, I could cry at the drop of a dime. I actually teared up at how good these tiny elementary cheerleaders were at the ASU Basketball game on Wednesday. Woah Brooke take control.

FIVE. I have been yearning over these sunglasses for quite some time now. I always by cheap-o ones because they really do last forever. My favorite pair from sophomore year of college just bit the dust. I think that means I need some new. :)

Hope you lovelies have an amazing Friday and even better weekend!

Mafia

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

I had been previously asked to make a post about how to play Mafia after my New Years post! I had never played it before and loved it! It is especially fun with a group of 7 or more!

What you need:
A narrator
7 or more people
2-4 queens from a deck of cards
1 king from a deck
1 jack from a deck
After the 4-6 face cards, how many ever other people are left you need a number card for each of them.

How to play:
First off this is a silent game. The only one that talks is the narrator and then while you are picking the 2-3 to vote on at the end of a round.

The narrator should go around and have each person randomly pick a card.(Make sure that no one shows their card. )

The narrator explains that whoever has the queens are called the mafia, whoever has the king is the sherif, and whoever has the jack is the doctor. All others with number cards are called townspeople.

The narrator says, "Everyone in the town of " make up a name for your town" goes to sleep. While everyone is sleeping the mafias awake and kill one person off. All the mafias open your eyes, don't say a word and pick one person to kill off. Ok, the mafias go to sleep. The doctor awakes. Pick someone or yourself to save from the mafia killing without saying a word. The doctor goes to sleep. The sherif awakes and point to someone and I will shake my head yes or no if they are one of the mafias. Ok sherif asleep and the townspeople awake."

The narrator then tells the town who the mafia killed off and if they were saved or not by the doctor. If they were not saved they now are out of the game.

Next, the town votes on 2-3 people who they think are the mafia. The sherif can persuade someone they should vote on if they choose to. A lot of times they don't say anything the first round since then the mafia will kill the sherif off so they can no longer help the town.

Once everyone votes whoever gets the most votes is out of the game and the narrator will tell you if they were mafia or not.

You continue playing until you either kill off all the mafia or the town diminishes. (Every time I played we killed off the mafia before they could kill off the town.)

It is such a fun game with a group of people! We really enjoyed it and I hope you guys do too! If you have any more questions  or need more explaining, let me know!

5, 8 and 12 week bumpdate

Thursday, January 16, 2014

I have been taking these pictures and filling out the info updates since we found out so thought I would play a little catch up. Since we didn't find out until I was 5 weeks, that is where I will start. I decided to just do one a month until we find out the sex :D I mean the belly isn't even quite showing yet even though I feel extra fluffy. I know I know so much can happen in 4 weeks! I couldn't find a big enough chalkboard here in Finland so opted with my Rhonna Designs app I paid for. (Cue bad cell pictures.)

How far along: 5 weeks(11/25/13)

Size of baby: Sweet Pea(so small!)

Baby's size and weight: .o5 inches long and .04 ounces according to the million websites I read since I haven't gone to the doctor yet.

My total weight gain: none

Baby's development: creation of Brain, Spinal Cord, Heart, and blood vessels is under way. (EEEK!)

Stretch marks: None.

Maternity clothes: Nope

Gender: Boy or Girl?! Brad wants a Boy I want twins ;)

Movement: Not yet, I can't wait for it though!

Sleep: Constant. I am one exhausted momma. Growing a human is tough.

What I miss: For now literally nothing. After wanting this for some time I am happy to let things go and welcome the tired, nauseous feeling.

Food cravings: None yet, although lettuce and grapefruit makes me wanna barf. Which makes me sad because that was my daily breakfast and lunch routine.

Symptoms: Exhausted, smells make me queasy and some nausea, but no actual sickness!

Brad is: The sweetest husband and daddy to be. I am still on duty to take care of him, but he always reminds me he will do the same for me once he is back to walking! He sometimes does a little much and I have to get on his case, but the gesture is sweet. :)

What I'm looking forward to: first appointment here in Finland December 12th!

Best moments: Telling Brad, my dad, my mom and two bests! They were all so dang excited!

oh, ya know my hair is looking' real good.

How far along: 8 weeks (12/16/13)

Size of baby: Green Olive

Baby's size and weight: At our doctor appointment on December 12th(almost 8 weeks) the baby was 1.5 cm long.

My total weight gain: none

Baby's development: The little tail is almost gone and we could actually see limbs on the sonogram. It was amazing!

Stretch marks: None.

Maternity clothes: Nope

Gender: Boy or Girl?! Brad wants a Boy still.. Doctor confirmed as of now there is just ONE baby :)

Movement: Not yet, I can't wait for it though!

Sleep: Still sleeping all the time!

What I miss: Still greeting all symptoms with open arms. Although, I do wish I could get some energy instead of always feeling crummy.

Food cravings: Still no actual cravings. Given the fact we leave in two days for America I am craving all the restaurants. I think that just comes with getting ready to go home though not the baby. :)

Symptoms: Exhausted and always feel sick to my stomach. No actual sickness which makes me glad!

Brad issuch a trooper about helping me out with dinner, dishes or cleaning when I'm not feeling good. He still has to hobble around quite a bit from surgery, but does the most he can. I don't know what I would do without him because some days I can barely get off the couch.

What I'm looking forward to: getting back home to Texas Wednesday and taking some announcement photos with the lovely Tiffani so we can tell the family and of course write a blog post. ;)

Best moments: Our first doctor appointment and sonogram! Just seeing the little babe on the screen let it all set in. I could literally see the formation of the head and limbs. We also could see the heart beat thudering away on the screen even though we didn't get to hear it yet. Maybe on the 19th we will get to! Brads reaction was the best! His face lit up and he touched the screen. He kept saying I'm gonna be a daddy. The absolute most perfect day!

How far along: 12 weeks (1/13/13)

Size of baby: A Peach or Lime(Every website is different. lol)

Baby's size and weight: 11.6 cm long and 2 ounces! The baby has grown so much since our 7 1/2 week ultrasound. We were blown away at how big and beautiful the baby is.

My total weight gain: As of today(1/16/14 almost 13 weeks), I have gained 2 pounds.

Baby's development: The babes head is half the size of the actual body. He/she was jumping and kicking around constantly. Looks like those muscles are definitely in full force of working. Long legs and I'm sure we have a basketball player on our hands!

Stretch marks: None and I sure am using belly butter twice a day already.

Maternity clothes: Nope

Gender: Boy or Girl?! We should know within 4 to 6 weeks! EEEK!

Movement: Not yet, I can't wait for it though!

Sleep: Always sleepy, but getting a few spurts of energy here and there. Especially with babysitting a lot now.

What I miss: Caffeine. Boy do I miss Vanilla Cream Dr. Pepper from Sonic, Caramel Macchiato with 2 pumps of Raspberry from Starbucks and of course chocolate.

Food cravings: Welp, I've never wanted Froyo and Frostys as much as I do now.

Symptoms: Nothing as of late!

What I'm looking forward to: Finding out the sex is literally all that is on my mind! Come on February! They said they thought they saw something sticking up between the legs, but weren't sure so we go back February 13th and hopefully we can find out!

Best moments: No longer hiding that I'm pregnant. I could shout it to everyone. Went to our supposed to be 12 week appointment today and found out I will be 13 weeks on 1/17/14! It is exciting to know my due date is now July 25th. Also, the baby was jumping and kicking all over the place. The ultrasound tech said she needed to be quick because the baby sure didn't like having it's picture taken. (must be a boy. lol)! We heard the heart beat again and it was music to our ears! Our baby is the most beautiful sight I've seen. So in love!

Taste of Tuesday:Crockpot Cream Cheese Chicken Breasts

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

Ingredients:
4 frozen chicken breasts
8 ounces of cream cheese
1 can of Cream of chicken soup
1 packet of Italian seasoning

Directions:
+Spray your crockpot with non-stick spray.
+ Turn it on to high.
+ Add the cream cheese and let it melt for about 30 minutes. (Let me tell you I left it for about 45 and it still was all chunky. I know it looks gross but the end taste is amazing!)
+ Then add in the can of cream of chicken soup and Italian seasoning packet. Stir.
+ Salt and Pepper the chicken breasts and place them in the mixture.
+ Keep it on high for 4-6 hours. It literally will start to just shred and fall apart!

I placed mine on top of some steamed white rice! That's the best part. Was craving stuffing and corn so that's what I added! It's easy, quick, and tasty! Enjoy!
